A microsite launch as part of a conference event announcing results of multi-year survey efforts. The interactive visualizations highlighted current and historical data consolidated over multiple sites.

The goal of this project was to communicate the scale and impact of ongoing conflicts throughout Asia. While statistics of a single country or a snapshot of a year may not appear significant or newsworthy, when we factor in the duration of many of these conflicts, its impact is made clear. Working with the client, I proposed an interaction that would play through the historical timeline in order to focus on the cumulative effects of ongoing conflict. The challenge for the design was to show both current and cumulative data simultaneously, while allowing the user to explore by country or conflict point of interest.
